I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on at the bottom of the photo. Did you blur out the time/date so as to make their advertising ineffective?

  2. fulsome Says:

correct, I did not want to promote the event in any way

Haha, well I’ll ruin it for you:

Watch the Oscars Thursday, March 1, 7:30PM on TNT!

  4. mdhatter Says:

No No, they’re on Friday, March 1, 9:00PM on ABC!

  5. fulsome Says:

I thought it was safe to talk about them since they happened last week?

I think marketing should have gone with “I want somebody good - and I mean very good - to plant that gun. I don’t want my brother coming out of that toilet with just his dick in his hands, alright?” But then they would need a bigger billboard.

  7. Chuckles Says:

The should have gone with “For Frodo.”

well, at least it was close to my Spartacus-esque, “No, I’m Spartacus” series of wrong times for the Oscars I was hoping for.

Although I do find that reference somewhat ironic since Spartacus did win a couple Oscars (although nothing better than Best Supporting Actor).

Anyway, I don’t hate the Oscars all the time, just when they give awards to crap like Crash. Of course, that also doesn’t mean I have any interest in watching them (unless they’re in HD and I flip by them. Then I might have to watch them whether I want to or not).

I don’t generally hate the Oscars I just rarely really care. Especially not about the celebrity portion. I would be more interested if I could actually rely on the Oscars as a way to know what movies are really good. That seems like a useful service and I look at the nominations as some measure of that but I couldn’t care less about the pomp and circumstance.
