I finally got around to checking out Joe Mathlete Explains Today’s Marmaduke again this week and I have to admit it’s still hilarious. It’s no Permanent Monday (which totally needs to start updating again) but what can you do.
Anyway, it’s definitely worth checking out for great comments like this.

In many areas of life, there is a pecking order. This order is either vigorously enforced or self-enforced or perhaps even ignored. In the armed forces, this is called the chain of command. In a professional environment, this is called the blame chute. Agricultural biologists will tell you that various farm animals are extremely dependent, behaviorally, on a pecking order and thus our supply of chicken fingers is subsequently dependent on it.
In college, there were many orders that I ignored and some that I enjoyed. Nerd pedigree was one that I particularly enjoyed. I did not flaunt it a lot, but when I did, I liked to think that I was somehow more nerdy and thus a better nerd than my wannabe peers.* In this regard, I direct your attention to two old comic strips that previously graced the back pages of Dragon Magazine.
What’s New with Phil and Dixie
*For example, I slipped a Car Wars reference into a rant about movies a couple posts ago.

Ok, I know this is hits close to home for both Chuckles and Fulsome but today’s Dinosaur Comics touches on a point that I’ve argued many times in the past.
The comic does it so well though, that I thought it deserved special attention.

I just happened to noticed that one of my favorite web comics Savage Chickens has a new comic up that I think is particularly relevant to the beer/alcohol snobbery and pretentiousness of this blog.
Personally, I’ve always been more of a connoisseur of the carbonated, sweetened and flavored water beverages than those of the alcohol nature. Hoho! Perhaps there is room here for a weekly non-Alcoholic beverage review as well. We will have to see!
p.s. On a side note, there is a Penny Arcade comic that reminds me of some of my interactions with Fulsome. Whenever playing strategy or MMO games, I always make him do the heavy lifting of learning all the rules/intricacy of the game and I then just ask him tons of questions. He seems to like that kind of stuff! Sometimes though, there’s a little too much detail.
